Spero Center at The Meadows

One location serving two unique populations

Stabilization and Residential Treatment

Spero Center at The Meadows meets two distinctly different needs under one roof: providing a safe and secure setting for short-term stabilization and a gentler environment for highly individualized treatment, all done with the experience and expertise that comes with the Meadows name.

1655 North Tegner St.
Wickenburg, AZ 85390

Our Campus

Spero is a soft landing place characterized by growth, hope, and kindness. Our intention is that when you step foot on our campus, you feel surrounded by warmth, the welcome and compassion of our staff, and a sense of safety.

Spero Center at The Meadows

Program Services

While many have benefitted from Meadows treatment programs for decades, others weren’t a fit for any of our existing programs and had to be turned away. Spero Center was born to make a place for them.

Stabilization

Patients in our Sky or Stabilization wing are with us for a short time, usually seven days or less. In this safe and secure environment, medications have time to stabilize while patients learn tools for self-regulation so they can go on to be successful on one of our open campuses, fully engaged in the next part of their healing journey. Our goal isn’t to do extensive treatment at Sky, but rather to help stabilize patients so they can transfer to one of our other programs successfully.

Residential

What works for one person may not produce results for another. Spero’s Residential or River program makes a place for those who need a gentler environment, a more customized treatment approach, or have unique needs that can’t be accommodated in one of our other programs. A River patient may need treatment we don’t have available on our other campuses. Here, we will help them cultivate self-compassion and ownership for their healing journey.

Our Innovative Brain Center

Our unique Brain Center is a calm, caring environment where patients can improve their self-regulation skills. This safe space focused on wellness and healing employs state-of-the-art equipment that can be tailored to each individual’s current status. Neurofeedback, cranial electrotherapy stimulation, heart rate variability, and other techniques provide patients with science-based ways to calm their brains and begin the deeper work of treatment sooner.

Why Choose Us?

Meadows programs have built a reputation as the nation’s premier treatment option. Spero continues that legacy. Located one hour northwest of Phoenix, our scenic Wickenburg, Arizona campus is nestled in the serene Sonoran Desert, making it an ideal place to focus on recovery.

Arizona native Dr. Holly Doolin earned a master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A Licensed Clinical Psychologist, she is also a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor, Certified Multiple Addictions Therapist, an AZBBHE-Approved Clinical Supervisor, and a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. She began her career with Meadows Behavioral Healthcare as lead therapist at Gentle Path, our men’s sex addiction program, before moving over to our flagship program, The Meadows. During her tenure as assistant clinical director at The Meadows, primary responsibilities included supervising therapists as well as planning and organizing the clinical programming to run smoothly and effectively. In 2021, Dr. Doolin began devoting her talents exclusively to the creation of the new Spero Center at The Meadows. Her vision is to create a place that can serve as a soft landing for those who need a little more time and care before admitting to one of our other programs and for those who need to go at a pace or in a format that our other programs can’t currently accommodate. In addition to her wide-ranging clinical skills, Dr. Doolin is also known for her heart for patients and their loved ones. Running throughout her vision for Spero is an intentional focus on honoring each individual’s gifts and strengths, not just addressing problem areas. She firmly believes this kind of personal empowerment is key in encouraging patients to show up and participate in their own recovery journey. Married since 2004, Dr. Doolin and her husband love board games and are building an enviable collection. She also reads daily, enjoys movies and musical theater (she’s a season ticketholder for the local Broadway series), and looks forward to traveling internationally again soon.
