Several recent psychological studies indicate that power has a way of revealing a person’s true nature. The more power a person gets, the more they feel free to be their authentic selves and act in accordance with their goals and values.
If this is the case, then Sean Walsh—who has gone from Executive Director of The Meadows inpatient treatment program to CEO of the entire family of Meadows Behavioral Healthcare (MBH) programs in four years time— has proven himself to be an authentically caring, dedicated, and remarkable servant leader.
We were exceptionally proud to see him recognized for these same qualities at the Sierra Tucson “Gratitude for Giving” celebration. Sean received the Compassion Recognition, which honors a professional in the community for his/her contributions to the wellness of others. MBH Chief Marketing Officer Patty Evans thinks the award could not have been more appropriate:
“Father, faith-based man, mentor, CEO, friend, colleague are only a few of the titles that Sean Walsh carries with his name. His passion, compassion, and attitude make it a joy to work with him. I am inspired by his compassion witnessed in all areas of life,” she said.
Upon hearing that Sean would be receiving the award, Jim Dredge, CEO of Alita Care and long-time friend and colleague of Sean’s said, “Sean is an inspiration to each of us in his dedication to excellence and commitment to serving all in need. He is always present to give without hesitation and to serve those in need of support in their recovery.”
Meadows Outpatient Center Director Jim Corrington, who accepted the award on Sean’s behalf at the Annual Sierra Tucson Gratitude for Giving Breakfast ceremony, added,
“I have known and worked with Sean for around 15 years now. To put it simply, Sean is amazing! To have achieved so much and grown into the man and leader that he is at such a young age is absolutely rare and remarkable. He is kind, fair, smart, and knowledgeable and most importantly, he “gets it” and he “gets it done!” He knows what makes success, his priorities are in the right place and he breeds success in others—the mark of a true leader. I’ll always be thankful for my association and friendship with Sean. What a great boss!”
